What you'll be doing
  • Receive, inspect, sample, classify, and label packaged waste materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and site procedures
  • Produce waste processing menus that meet plant processing capabilities and emission limits, while collaborating with Day Team operators to ensure correct storage and segregation
  • Manage stock inventory using the Hazmat system, conducting weekly stock takes and supervising storage areas to maintain optimal capacity
  • Liaise with the Commercial team to optimise plant intake, identify and report non-conforming loads, and advise on PPE requirements and safe handling procedures
  • Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor, overseeing site monitoring and radiation-related issues, while participating in safety initiatives, procedure reviews, and risk assessments to meet production targets
What we're looking for
  • Relevant degree or HNC qualification with proven experience in the waste management industry or related environmental sector
  • Knowledge and practical experience of working within the requirements of a top tier COMAH site environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of ADR, COSHH, COMAH, HSG 71, and IRR2017 regulations and their practical application
  • Ability to work methodically and safely in a regulated environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining compliance standards
