Henderson Wholesale is a leading wholesaler in Northern Ireland and supplies goods to over 450 stores across various brands such as SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment.

The Purpose of the role:

This role will take responsibility for maintaining stock integrity and accuracy across all Henderson Group divisions, identifying and resolving stock errors, whilst assisting management with internal controls.

Working as Stock Auditor you will be:
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of stock holdings across all Henderson Group operations
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive stock count plans for all sites
  • Attending, overseeing, and reporting on stock counts
  • Leading stock variance investigations, including root cause analysis and resolution
  • Reporting stock variances and key findings to Senior Management
  • Preparing clear, detailed reports on investigative and audit activities for internal and external stakeholders
  • Planning and coordinating year‑end stock takes in conjunction with external auditors
  • Liaising closely with Warehouse and Finance teams, including Accounts Payable
  • Investigating breaches of procedures and developing or implementing corrective controls where required
  • Managing all administrative aspects associated with the role
  • Analysing and evaluating internal controls to ensure effectiveness and compliance
  • Using and interpreting data analytics to identify trends, risks, and control weaknesses
  • Coaching and training internal stakeholders to ensure consistent application of processes and procedures
  • Influencing peers to promote shared understanding, procedural compliance, and error prevention
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security within the working environment
  • Undertaking any other duties of a similar nature and level of responsibility as required
Skills for Success
Joining us as Stock Auditor the minimum criteria you'll need is:
  • GCSEs in Mathematics and English, or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years' experience in stock control
  • Highly numerate, with strong analytical skills
  • Proven experience handling high‑level, detail‑oriented administrative work
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver work to tight deadlines, while liaising with both external auditors and internal stakeholders
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and the preparation of reports and supporting documentation
  • Track record of improving processes, procedures, and/or operational techniques
  • Full valid UK/EU driving licence with access to your own vehicle

  • Basic accounting/finance knowledge to assist with period end cut‑off checks and the importance of accurate stock records for accounts reporting.

This is a full‑time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45 am‑4:45 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45 am‑3:45 pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
