Kitchen Steward Supervisor

Job Scope

As a Stewarding Supervisor at Trump Turnberry, you will ensure the smooth operation of kitchen hygiene standards and provide supervision to the stewarding team. This role assists the senior kitchen team in meeting the requirements of the day to day kitchen operations, food preparation areas and back of house areas. Works with the kitchen team and food and beverage team to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction by ensuring a five star approach to the back of house areas. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will use your initiative and take a proactive approach to ensure the hotel's high standards are achieved. You will report directly to the Back Of House Manager and present them in their absence.

Job Functions (include the following, however this list is not exhaustive)

• Efficient running of the wash-up, pot-wash, and back of house area to ensure the hygiene of the kitchen and stewarding areas.
• Supervise the Kitchen Stewarding team to ensure standards are adhered to.
• To adhere to and assist in the compliance of Health and Safety e.g. COSHH & Risk Assessments.
• Assisting in staff canteens or still room as required.
• Follow the cleaning schedules and keep work areas clean and sanitary.
• Uses all available on the job training tools for ambassadors; supervises ongoing training initiatives and conducts training when appropriate.
• Clean crockery, silverware and copperware to the required standard.
• Maintain the optimum levels of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen areas and the required standards of cleanliness in the back of house areas, including corridors, skip, and bin areas.

Position Requirements

• Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other departments in the Hotel, especially Kitchen and Restaurant.
• Must be able to communicate fully in the local language.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Walking and standing are required during the working day.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
