Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a DSD Technician to join the Decontamination Services Department on the Oxford Road Campus in Manchester. You will be involved in decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilisation and distribution of medical devices for operating theatres and other departments.

You'll follow procedures within a quality management system, demonstrate effective communication, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• General standard of formal education (5 GCSEs including Maths and English).
• Experience on working to deadlines.
• Production environment experience.
• Work history or hobbies inclusive of activities where manual dexterity is required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilise and distribute medical devices (surgical instruments).
• Ensure service delivery aligns with Department policies and Quality Management System.
• Work across operating theatres and departments at the Oxford Road site and externally.
• Follow procedures in a production environment and communicate effectively under pressure.
