Job summary

A healthcare provider in Rotherham is seeking enthusiastic individuals for a decontamination role. Responsibilities include decontaminating and inspecting surgical instruments as well as delivering vital goods to numerous departments. The candidate should possess a GCSE in English and Maths, with a commitment to achieving a Level 2 Healthcare Science qualification. Teamwork and prior experience in sterile services are desirable. This position offers a friendly working environment with shift patterns including weekends.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.
  • Committed to completing the Healthcare Science Assistant Level 2 qualification within 3 years.
  • Previous experience in Sterile Services or similar roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate and inspect surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Handle heavy goods as part of the decontamination process.
  • Deliver goods to wards, theatres, and other departments.

Main duties of the job

Yourvaried duties will include the decontamination, inspection, function testing ofsurgical instruments/equipment used within operating theatres and otherdepartments.You will be responsible for the despatching of goods to the wards, theatres andother departments.You will be trained in all aspects of Decontamination Practices includingSterile Services, Endoscopy Decontamination & Specialist MattressDecontamination.This job role involves manual handling of heavy goods.The successful candidate should be working towards Healthcare Science AssistantLevel 2 qualification for completion within 3 years of commencing post.
