Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Sterile Services Technician to join the team on a contract running through to 2027. The role offers weekly pay and is based in Liverpool, within a busy NHS environment.

You will handle decontamination, cleaning, inspection of surgical instruments, and operate washer-disinfectors and sterilisation equipment. The department covers Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology, General Surgery, Trauma, Dental and Robotic Surgery.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sterile Services Technician in healthcare.
• Knowledge of SOPs, QMS, COSHH and infection-control procedures.
• Ability to identify damaged or non-conforming instruments.
• Accurate tracking and traceability records management.
• Strong attention to detail and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, cleaning and inspection of surgical instruments.
• Operate washer-disinfectors and sterilisation equipment.
• Assemble, pack and label instruments.
• Review cycle data and release or reject loads.
• Respond to urgent requests from theatres and clinical teams.
• Support quality, safety and compliance requirements.
