The opportunity

Do you see teaching as more than just a job? At our Carlisle secondary school, we’re looking for enthusiastic STEM graduates – or aspiring teachers with strong A-level Maths or Science – who want to turn their love of the subject into a meaningful career.

We’re seeking future teachers who can bring clarity, enthusiasm, and analytical thinking to STEM lessons – from algebra and geometry to chemical reactions, forces, energy, and real-world applications.

Why choose us?
  • £26,761 starting salary during your training year
  • PGCE + QTS qualification – gain both in just 12 months
  • Ofsted 'Outstanding' Teacher Training with a 95% success rate
  • Practical training model – focus on real classroom skills, not just academic theory
  • Modern facilities including Maths resources and well-equipped Science laboratories
  • Structured support from experienced STEM mentors

  • Jan–Mar: Lead planning and delivery of lessons, develop assessment strategies
  • Apr–Jul: Teach independently, refine your classroom management, complete your PGCE + QTS
