Job summary

Hannon Steel is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support steel handling in the yard and warehouse. You will move, store and prepare steel products to order, using overhead cranes and forklifts, while following safety protocols and maintaining accurate documentation.

The role requires physical fitness, reliability, and teamwork in a busy environment. Occasional overtime may be required to meet customer demand and ensure timely dispatch.

Qualifications

• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret basic job sheets.
• Physically fit for manual work in a busy yard environment.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
• Desirable: experience with steel handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move steel using cranes, forklifts and similar equipment.
• Prepare steel sections, plates and profiles to order and verify identifications.
• Keep yard and warehouse tidy and safe.
• Perform pre-use checks on lifting gear and report faults.
• Complete delivery notes and documentation for dispatch.
