Job summary

VGC Group is seeking Steel Fixers to join a major infrastructure project in Plymouth. The role starts in Q1 2027, with a long-term contract on a busy site. You will be working on steel fixing tasks across a large civil package, with dedicated training and progression opportunities.

The package includes a competitive hourly rate (£22.07) with enhanced overtime, 10 hour shifts, and site allowances. This is a full-time on-site position on a major project in Devonport.

• CSCS Blue NVQ Level 2 Steelfixing required.
• 3+ years of relevant site experience.
• Safety Critical Medical (arranged by employer).

Steel Fixers - Plymouth, Devonport - PL1 4SG

VGC Group are seeking Steel Fixers to join a great team on a Major Infrastructure Project in Devonport, Plymouth. This contract is available to start in Q1 of 2027 subject to BPSS Vetting.

Role: Steel Fixer
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £22.07 per hour, 1.5 x rate after 39 hours in a week, 1.5 x rate first 4 hours on a saturday, 2 x rate rest of the weekend.
Hours: 10 hour Shifts
Contract: Full time
Duration: 4 years +
Experience: 3 years +

Benefits: 31 days holiday per year, training and upskilling provided if relevant to role, pension, £3 a day brief allowance

Subsistence:

• Lodge available at £51.97 per night for anyone living over 50 miles from site.
• Daily Travel allowance available for any operative not on lodge commuting more than 9 miles (in line with CIJC)

Quals:

• CSCS Blue NVQ Level 2 Steelfixing
• Previous Civil Engineering Experience
• Safety Critical Medical (Can be arranged for you)

You must provide proof of right to work in UK and pass a drugs and alcohol test upon induction.
