We are seeking a skilled Steelwork Draftsman/Detailer to join a professional, friendly team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models of steel structures using AutoCAD software. You will work closely with a senior draughtsman to ensure accurate and precise drawings that meet industry standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of steelwork design principles, excellent AutoCAD skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the senior draughtsman to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Create detailed drawings and models of steel structures using AutoCAD software.
- Ensure accuracy and precision in all drawings, adhering to industry standards and client specifications.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to develop steelwork designs.
- Generate bills of materials (BOM) and material take-offs for procurement purposes.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve design issues and provide technical support.
- Coordinate with fabricators and contractors to ensure the successful implementation of steelwork designs.
- Conduct site visits as required to gather accurate measurements and assess project progress.
- Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to steelwork design and drafting.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including drawings, reports, and specifications.

Skills and Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Steelwork Draftsman/Detailer, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficient in AutoCAD software, with a strong understanding of 2D and 3D modeling.
- Knowledge of steelwork design principles, fabrication techniques, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations, such as AISC, BS, or Eurocodes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and error-free drawings.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge of other drafting software, such as Tekla Structures or Revit, is a plus
