Over the coming years, Anglian Water will deliver one of the largest capital investment programmes in the UK water sector — nearly £3 billion over the next five years — to respond to environmental and customer needs. Our Asset Standards Team plays a pivotal role in defining what “good” looks like for these assets. We turn business intelligence into clear, practical standards that empower engineers, designers and delivery partners to build world‑class, maintainable and resilient infrastructure. Our standards shape every stage of design and construction, ensuring best practice, innovation, safety and sustainability are embedded throughout.
We’re looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking Standards & Products Manager to lead our talented Standards and Products Team.
As the custodian of Anglian Water’s asset standards, you’ll define and deliver the strategy for our Minimum Asset Standards (MAS), Design Manuals and Standard Products. You’ll ensure that our standards system continues to evolve to meet future business needs, embedding lessons learned and innovation to deliver the best balanced value — protecting both our customers and the environment.
You’ll lead a team of engineers and specialists, ensuring governance, collaboration and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do. Working across Anglian Water and our alliance partners, you’ll enable efficiency, consistency and innovation across the capital programme.
You’ll be an accomplished engineering professional with experience leading teams, delivering technical excellence, and managing governance processes. With strong communication and influencing skills, you’ll be able to balance technical rigour with business needs to deliver effective, sustainable solutions.
You’ll be resilient, adaptable and able to navigate complex challenges — confident in bringing people together to deliver results that balance cost, carbon, safety and long‑term resilience.
This role is based in our Peterborough office, with hybrid working and occasional visits to operational or partner construction sites. On average, you’ll spend 2–3 days per week working in person to build strong relationships across teams.
