Job summary

A leading infrastructure firm is seeking a confident Stakeholder & Social Value Advisor to drive community engagement for an important project in Halifax. You'll manage stakeholder relationships, coordinate cultural initiatives, and deliver impactful social value activities. This role requires local knowledge, strong communication skills, and a proactive mindset. A valid UK Driving Licence and relevant experience in community engagement are essential. Job description
Stakeholder & Social Value Advisor

We're seeking a Stakeholder & Social Value Advisor to join our team for a major infrastructure project in Halifax. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the local community, working closely with residents, businesses, and partners to deliver meaningful social value and engagement.

The role is based in Halifax and you will be working on site or in the community 3-4 days a week. This is a 2‑year contract starting ASAP.

Responsibilities
  • Lead stakeholder engagement for the Halifax project, ensuring local residents, businesses, and community groups are informed and involved throughout delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with challenging stakeholders, including local businesses and residents.
  • Coordinate and deliver Arts & Culture initiatives, such as commissioning local artists for local projects.
  • Plan and deliver social value activities that leave a lasting, positive legacy.
  • Manage communications, organise local engagement events, and act as a trusted link between the project team and the community.
  • Collaborate with the Stakeholder & Social Value Manager, Project Managers, wider delivery teams, and key customers and partners, including local authorities, community groups, and schools.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Local knowledge of Halifax or West Yorkshire.
  • Experience in a community engagement or public liaison role, with the confidence to manage complex or challenging relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organisational ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good level of written and spoken English (Essential).
  • Current valid UK Driving Licence (Essential).
  • DBS Check or ability to obtain one (Essential).
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in Community Engagement, Social Value, Communications, or Project Management.
  • STEM Ambassador / EDI qualification (Desirable).
