Job description

At the Pension Protection Fund (PPF), we safeguard the futures of nearly 300,000 members by compensating defined benefit (DB) pension scheme holders when their sponsoring employers become insolvent. With over £30 billion in assets under management, our investments support long-term economic growth across the UK.

Our award-winning team of around 450 professionals has earned the IPE UK Pension Fund of the Year title three times in six years. We work closely with government and industry partners to improve outcomes for scheme members, employers, and the broader pension system—playing a vital role in strengthening retirement security nationwide.

We’re looking for a strategic Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead and deliver impactful engagement programmes for our senior leadership team. This is a high-profile role where you’ll be at the heart of shaping and supporting how our senior leaders connect with key stakeholders across government, industry, and beyond.

You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies that align with our organisational goals, ensuring our leadership is engaging with the right people, at the right time, with the right messages.

A key part of your role will be to manage a dedicated engagement programme for PPF senior leadership, working closely with the Chief Executive’s office and other senior PPF leaders. You’ll also be responsible for stakeholder mapping, gathering insights from senior level engagements, advising on follow-up actions, identify risks and opportunities, and helping evolve our approach. You’ll produce high-quality, tailored briefing materials for senior leaders, and build strong external relationships to support their engagement efforts.

Our ideal candidate will bring a strong background in communications, ideally within a financial services or pensions environment, and a proven ability to deliver complex stakeholder engagement strategies. You’ll have experience preparing senior leaders for high-level meetings and events, both in-person and virtual, and be confident in stakeholder mapping and prioritisation. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships and influence at all levels, including with Executive Committee members and Board representatives. You’ll be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Your written and verbal communication skills will be exceptional, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, impactful messages tailored to different audiences.

In return for your skills, experience and commitment we’ll give you a challenging role within a business where you’ll get the support you need to develop your career.

We’ll also give you lots of opportunities for personal development and skills training.
