Job summary

Major Talent is seeking a skilled Fabricator / TIG Welder in Bilston to fabricate, modify and repair stainless-steel equipment for a live food production environment.

You will weld stainless steel (304/316L), read engineering drawings, and operate workshop machinery, with some on-site repairs and maintenance across production lines.

The role offers a Monday–Friday days pattern, permanent contract, and overtime opportunities, with a strong emphasis on hygienic design and safety.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding or equivalent apprenticeship.
• At least 3 years' experience in industrial fabrication.
• Proven TIG welding on stainless steel with high-quality finishes.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld stainless steel (primarily 304/316L) to high hygienic standards.
• Fabricate, modify and repair stainless-steel equipment and structures.
• Read engineering drawings and work from site measurements.
• Support planned maintenance and time-critical breakdowns in a food manufacturing environment.
• Maintain all welding tools and keep accurate job records.
