Job description

Sony Interactive Entertainment isn’t just the Best Place to Play — it’s also the Best Place to Work. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the PlayStation brand. As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we’re part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting‑edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.

The role

We create development tools for PlayStation® platforms. From compilers and performance analysers to audio and graphics tools, our products are designed to make PlayStation® developers' lives easier and more efficient.

To help us continue to evolve and meet the needs of an ever‑changing technical landscape, we are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our team in Bristol, Dublin or London, supporting the delivery of the best possible game developer experience.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be working at the heart of our software development lifecycle: creating plans, defining processes, monitoring progress and coordinating releases. You will work closely with predominantly UK and Ireland‑based development teams, alongside stakeholders in the US and Japan. You will be responsible for coordinating resources across the full software development lifecycle, helping to construct roadmaps, managing stakeholder input, highlighting dependencies, mitigating risks and handling unexpected disruptions. You will also contribute to the wider TPM organisation, sharing and developing best practices, ways of working and common frameworks that other groups can leverage.

Your efforts will make a key contribution towards critical elements of the PlayStation® developer platform and, by extension, be part of all software released for PlayStation®. Ultimately, your work will make a meaningful contribution to the continued success of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

This position is ideally suited to Technical Program Managers with a strong software engineering background, including practical hands‑on experience. We'd love to hear from you if you take pride in delivering high‑quality projects on time and within budget, and are excited by the opportunity to improve existing processes and tools.

This is a hybrid role; frequent in‑office time is expected, along with occasional travel as business needs require.

SIE is committed to creating an inclusive working environment.

What you'll be doing
  • Support the Software Engineering Manager to coordinate software development, testing and release activities.
    • Create project plans for software projects contributing to the PlayStation® developer platform.
    • Coordinate stakeholders to align on agreed objectives, milestones and quality expectations.
    • Coordinate product testing activities, working closely with colleagues across QA.
    • Report progress cross‑functionally and to senior executives.
  • Manage internal projects to achieve the optimal balance between initiatives that improve internal ways of working and external delivery commitments.
  • Contribute to improving project management and software development practices.
What you’ll bring
  • 8+ years’ relevant project management experience.
  • Experience managing multiple software development projects involving medium to high complexity, multiple organisations and globally distributed teams.
  • A proven track record of delivering projects on schedule.
  • Experience managing multiple software development projects in parallel.
  • Experience working with Agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum).
  • Strong software engineering background, ideally with practical hands‑on experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and collaboration skills.
  • A project management qualification (PMI, APM or equivalent) would be an advantage.
Nice to have
  • Experience with business process improvement.
  • Experience working on large developer platforms.
  • Experience working with AI or agentic tooling.
  • Understanding of modern software development practices, languages and tooling.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working with Japanese and US teams and cultures.
