Staff Software Engineer – United Kingdom

This role is a senior technical leadership position within a dynamic, fully remote engineering organization. You will take ownership of modernizing and optimizing a core product, building scalable frontend and backend systems while ensuring reliability, performance, and architectural excellence. Beyond hands‑on coding, you will mentor engineers, guide the adoption of best practices, and drive Continuous Delivery principles. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to deliver high‑value solutions while shaping the technical roadmap. This role offers the opportunity to lead large‑scale projects, solve complex technical challenges, and elevate the overall engineering capabilities of the UK team.

Accountabilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable frontend and backend systems using .NET Core and modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Drive modernization of monolithic applications, enabling service‑oriented architectures and independent deployment.
• Implement and advocate Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps practices to ensure system stability, performance, and rapid deployment.
• Mentor and support engineers, fostering technical growth, high‑quality standards, and adoption of best practices.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to deliver solutions aligned with business goals and customer value.
• Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation (system designs, API specifications, architecture diagrams).
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance, scalability, and security across applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
