Job summary

Arm Limited in Cambridge seeks a Staff/Principal Software Engineer to lead post-silicon firmware releases and defect management for our infrastructure platforms. You will coordinate across engineering groups to ensure delivery across multiple platform configurations and sites, shaping production-ready firmware.

The role requires strong firmware or low-level system software experience, ownership of release quality, and excellent collaboration across distributed teams.

We are looking for a Staff/Principal Software Engineer in the Infrastructure Solutions Software team in our CE-SW group. This role will lead all aspects of post-silicon firmware releases and defect management for our infrastructure platforms, while coordinating the engineering environment needs of the software organization.

JOB PURPOSE AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead post-silicon firmware releases for Arm's datacenter SoC software project, covering release planning, readiness, quality and delivery across engineering teams and platform configurations.
• Own defect management across firmware releases, establishing effective triage and prioritisation and providing clear visibility of release blockers and delivery risks.
• Coordinate CE-SW requirements for post-silicon development environments, translating engineering plans into demand for development boards, system configurations, debug equipment and lab capacity across projects and sites.
• Collaborate across Arm locations and engineering teams to align priorities and dependencies, resolve issues and improve the effectiveness of firmware delivery.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Strong experience in firmware or low-level system software, including the delivery of production-quality software for complex systems.
• Experience leading software releases, defect management or system integration activities across multiple engineering teams within SoC domain
• Good understanding of post-silicon firmware development, including software integration, validation, release processes and the hardware environments used for development and debug.
• Excellent technical judgement, problem-solving and communication skills, with effective collaboration across teams and geographical locations.

"NICE TO HAVE" SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of server-class SoCs and production firmware for infrastructure platforms.
• Familiarity with Arm-based systems and technologies such as Trusted Firmware-A (TF-A), UEFI EDK II, SCP/MCP firmware, Linux or OpenBMC.
• Experience with CI/CD, release automation, software configuration management, defect tracking or hardware debug environments.
