Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build AI-powered tools and integrations into game engines, editors, clients, and backend services.

You will deliver high-quality C++ integrations, ship robust build/QA automation, and collaborate with multiple PlayStation Studios teams to make AI an everyday part of development.

This role can be completed remotely from the UK.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of production C++ (C++17/20) with memory, concurrency, performance, debugging.
• Shipped tools or runtime features in AAA engines (plugins/modules, asset/build pipelines).
• Experience with LLMs/ML tooling, prompt design, safety, telemetry.
• Engine-level automated testing (functional/integration), headless runs, CI gating.
• Proficient with large codebases; Perforce and Git familiarity.
• Clear communication across disciplines; pragmatic, maintainable solutions.
• Thorough documentation and well-tested code.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain engine/editor plugins, runtime SDKs, and services integrating AI into game clients/servers.
• Ship performant C++ across PC/console builds with tight frame budgets.
• Design stable API surfaces (C++/C API, gRPC/HTTP) with versioning and telemetry.
• Stand up CI/CD for game builds and tools (artifact packaging, tests).
• Automate QA for tooling and in-engine features with test frameworks and dashboards.
• Implement production LLM integrations (prompting, RAG, safety, observability, retries).
• Collaborate with studio engineering, art, design, QA to land integrations across codebases.
• Document patterns, provide sample projects, deliver internal training.
• Influence AI standards and contribute to shared libraries.
