Job Description

The Staff Purchaser performs purchasing responsibilities throughout the project life cycle, which includes ordering materials, supplies, and equipment, and following through with vendors on shipment and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare procurement documents and agreements
  • Perform commercial bid evaluations and coordinate technical evaluations
  • Enter purchase order information into the online purchasing system
  • Expedite supplier submittals to support design and construction
  • Prepare front‑end documents, including prime agreement flow‑downs
  • Source and qualify potential suppliers
  • Communicate and resolve procurement issues with stakeholders
  • Compile procurement and expediting status reports
  • Prepare RFPs and related documentation
  • Receive, analyze, and recommend supplier proposals
  • Update procurement status and material records
  • Comply with all company policies and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Law, or a Construction‑related field, and 3 years of direct purchasing experience (required)
  • Applicable experience may substitute for the degree requirement
  • Preferred: Project purchasing experience
  • Preferred: Oracle Financial R12 experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  • Preferred: CPM or CPSM Certification

  • Travel: ~25% to Rhode Island, with potential future travel to Pennsylvania or Kentucky based on program needs
