Howrecruit presents a hybrid opportunity in London, offering a chance to influence what gets built and why. You’ll talk with customers, challenge assumptions and make technical decisions that turn ideas into reliable products, all within an AI-native ecosystem.
As Staff level, you’ll shape the ecosystem by guiding architecture, making critical trade-offs, and steering other engineers with strong technical leadership.
You want to influence what gets built and why. To talk with customers, question assumptions and make the technical decisions that turn a promising idea into a product people depend on.
And you still want to build it.
This business is connecting how companies make spending decisions, manage supplier relationships and get work moving.
The ambition is an ecosystem of products under one brand, tackling a space that touches every part of a business but still runs on disconnected systems and manual effort.
You’ll help shape what that ecosystem becomes.
You’ll own significant problem spaces, working with customers to understand what matters and influencing which problems the team tackles.
Then you’ll take those decisions into the architecture and code, building dependable systems in TypeScript and embedding AI where it makes the product more useful.
At Staff level, your impact will also come through the technical direction you set and the judgement you bring to other engineers’ work.
Strong backend engineering is essential. You’ll need depth in designing and building the services, APIs and data flows behind a product. Some backend exposure alongside a mainly frontend career won’t be enough for this role.
You’ve owned complex technical decisions and can explain the trade-offs. You’re comfortable in front of customers, exploring their needs and using what you learn to influence what gets built.
The company has great PMF and has the advantage of being AI Native, it's grabbing market share and running with it
Its engineering team plans to double over the next year. There’s an established product to build from, with plenty of scope to shape what comes next.
