Job summary

Data Idols in London is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer - AI to design and build secure, scalable platform capabilities for enterprise AI adoption across the organisation.

As a Staff Platform Engineer, you'll own cloud-native platform services on Azure, champion reusable patterns, and work with Architecture, Product and Engineering to accelerate AI workloads at scale. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building cloud-native platforms on Azure.
• Commercial experience with Databricks, Azure AI services, APIs and integration technologies.
• Expertise developing scalable platform architecture and reusable engineering capabilities.
• Experience supporting modern AI workloads, including LLMs, RAG and AI-powered applications.
• A passion for technical leadership, engineering excellence and building platforms that enable teams to deliver at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, scalable cloud-native platform capabilities that enable enterprise AI adoption.
• Own complex technical challenges and build reusable platform services, APIs and integrations.
• Define engineering standards and influence platform strategy with Architecture, Product and Engineering teams.
• Ensure AI workloads are scalable, resilient and production-ready; lead hands-on implementation.

The Opportunity

As a Staff Platform Engineer, you'll combine deep technical expertise with platform leadership, designing and delivering reusable cloud-native capabilities that enable AI at enterprise scale.
