Job summary

Northamptonshire Police is seeking self-motivated trainers to join the operations training team as a Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST) and first aid trainer. You will be part of a passionate team of trainers delivering high quality PPST and first aid training to officers and staff across the organisation.

New trainers will also have the opportunity to develop into other training areas and qualifications such as: Public Order, CBRN and Method of Entry, enhancing your skill sets and abilities.

Recruitment and Selection Policy

Internal applicants who are at risk of redundancy or in need of redeployment and pass the selection process, will be offered the role over the remaining internal and external applicants.

Internal applicants must have line manager support prior to proceeding with an application.

Please be aware that the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and Northamptonshire Police are separate employers. Although vacancies are open to all, if you are successful, the change of employer will require a longer onboarding process and you will receive a new contract and payroll number. Service with either employer can be carried over as continuous service.

Police Barred and Advisory lists

Individuals placed on the Police Barred and Advisory lists will not be considered for employment for a minimum of 5 years from the date of listing in the case of gross misconduct, or 3 years from the date of listing in the case of poor performance.
