Job description

Koala Ward is seeking a dynamic senior staff nurse to join our highly skilled and forward thinking team. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient centred care to individuals with neurological conditions. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, co-ordinating care on a fast-paced unit and supporting the development and performance of the nursing team.

Responsibilities
  • To provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high- quality nursing care to children, young people and families.
  • To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner.
  • To assist in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources.
  • To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.
  • To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Ward Manager /Team Leader.
  • To be familiar with and adopt the principles of the NHS Chief Nursing Officers vision for Compassion in Practice (NHS Commissioning Board Dec 2012).

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for all admin and clerical roles at Bands 2-4 will be a two stage recruitment process whereby shortlisted candidates will undertake an online literacy, numeracy, ICT and typing test. Only those candidates who pass the competency test will proceed to a formal interview.
