Job summary

Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital is seeking a Bank Staff Nurse to join the Elective Surgical Ward. You’ll work on a combination of Early, Mid and Night shifts across Monday to Sunday, with weekend work expected.

You must be registered with the NMC, have post-registration experience, and be able to adapt quickly in a busy ward. This ad-hoc bank role offers up to £25 per hour and access to staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the NMC and hold appropriate nursing qualifications.
• Post-registration ward experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Ability to work ad-hoc bank shifts including weekends is required.

Responsibilities

• Be flexible, motivated, an excellent communicator and team worker.
• Join a close-knit team headed by the matron on a consultant-led ward.
• Fully understand and attend to each patient’s needs.
• Work with clinical staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Gain experience with new practices, equipment and facilities.
• Collaborate with other departments for continuity of care.

Up to £25.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience

Shifts are across Monday - Sunday : Early (07:00-19.30) Mid (10.00-22:30) Night (19:00-07:30)

This role is to work on a bank basis and anyone joining us would be required and expected to work a combination of EARLY & MID SHIFTS, NIGHT SHIFTS & WEEKENDS

As a Staff Nurse on the Elective Surgical Ward at our Cheltenham Hospital, you’ll drive the standard in patient care. You’re registered with the appropriate governing body, plus you bring the qualifications and experience that are relevant to your registration, including NMC. You also have post-registration experience.

The hospital has 33 ensuite private bedrooms, 3 theatres and a small ambulatory unit. It also hosts a purpose built close observation unit, 12 consulting rooms with access to treatment rooms, diagnostic services including; plain x-ray, MRI, CT, mammography and ultrasound.
