Job summary

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust provides haemodialysis for in-patients and out-patients within our main hospital and satellite units. The role involves high-quality nursing care in an acute haemodialysis setting and requires autonomous working after development of renal competencies.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care and participate in new renal initiatives.

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for End Stage Renal Failure and Acute Renal Failure patients on haemodialysis.
• Work towards delivering haemodialysis treatment without direct supervision after training period.

Job description

To provide high quality nursing care within an acute haemodialysis setting.

Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for patients with End Stage Renal Failure and Acute Renal Failure attending for their haemodialysis treatment.

The post holder will complete renal based competencies upon appointment with the expectation to provide haemodialysis treatment without direct supervision after a 12-month period.

Contribute to the maintenance of an environment conducive to the delivery of high standards of patient care by participating in good communication and relationships between staff, patients, relatives and visitors.

We currently provide haemodialysis in hospital for both acute and chronic patients.

You will be required to deliver a high standard of care and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously. Applicants should be highly motivated, with excellent communication skills in order to work closely with the multidisciplinary team. Good problem solving and organizational skills are essential.
