Job description
Overview

Staff Nurse (Registered Mental Health Nurse/RN Learning Disabilities) based in Willenhall. This permanent, full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £34,900 – £37,227 per annum plus a £3,000 welcome bonus. You will work within a multidisciplinary team in a behavioural care and specialist support services setting for adults and young people.

About the Facility: The facility is a 28-bedded hospital located in Willenhall, comprising three small acute wards that foster a community feel. The aim is to provide a person-centred, therapeutic environment with collaborative care planning to achieve optimal treatment goals. From admission, the goal is to support patients in their recovery and facilitate a safe discharge back into the community. Patients are typically referred from local NHS trusts, and the facility maintains strong relationships with patients, families, and external agencies to ensure clear communication throughout the care pathway. The facility offers a range of therapeutic interventions, combining psychiatric and cognitive behavioural approaches with occupational therapy, psychology, and leisure activities.

Responsibilities

As a Staff Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients with acute mental health needs. You will work closely with Ward Managers, Charge Nurses, Doctors, Support Workers, Therapists, Activity Coordinators, and the Senior Management Team. Your role includes assessing and treating patients, contributing to care planning, and ensuring that each individual’s needs are met with compassion and professionalism.

Working Hours

Flexible shift patterns, including long days (07:30–20:00) and nights (19:30–08:00), with the possibility of working 7 shifts over a 14‑day period. Flexible working and part-time options are available.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid NMC registration (RNLD/RMN)
  • Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development
  • A positive attitude with a commitment to change, improvement, and quality
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices
