Overview

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic team in the Children's Emergency Department & Paediatric Assessment Unit at Basildon Hospital.

The closing date is 23 October 2025

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and flexible nurse to join our Paediatric Emergency Department & Paediatric Assessment Unit. This role offers opportunities to grow and develop both personally and professionally while empowering others to succeed.

We are a large general hospital caring for the health needs of a large number of service users in a versatile community. We are looking for proactive and self-motivated Paediatric Nurses who are passionate about delivering high quality patient care. Working in a Children's Emergency Care setting can be challenging but rewarding; we value teamwork, a positive attitude and a flexible approach.

Main duties of the job

We are a supportive and encouraging department with a solid team of paediatric nurses at varying levels of experience. This will provide you with the support and camaraderie to make each day a good one. We have band 7 senior sisters/charge nurses within the department, as well as a dedicated practice development team to help you develop your skills, experiences and training.

We receive a wide variety of emergency patients, including trauma and medical/surgical admissions. Our Children’s Emergency Department provides an independent Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner-led service that operates 7 days a week.
