Job summary

We are a large supportive neonatal team who take pride in the high standards of care that we deliver. As part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, Evelina London is there for children, young people and women from London to South East England and provides specialist care for families around the UK and across the world. We support families from pre-conception, before birth, throughout childhood and into adult life.

We have fantastic opportunities for Band 5 neonatal nurses who are looking to broaden their clinical experience and develop their careers. We are a tertiary referral centre incorporating 20 NICU, 12 HDU and 14 special care cots. We provide an unrivalled breadth of experience, caring for babies with surgical, cardiac, neurological, renal and metabolic disorders as well as those born prematurely.

As specialist staff nurses you will enhance your experience whilst caring for our patient group who require various levels and complexities of care. You are able to join one of the specialist interest nursing groups which aid the quality of the service.

The post holder is responsible for assessment of care needs of patients, planning programmes of care, implementation and evaluation of these programmes without direct supervision.

The post holder will be a key member in relation to the development of practice on the ward. They will be working independently/autonomously and at times without direct supervision, accountable for their own professional actions. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred care principles.
