Job description
Overview

Join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team as a Staff Nurse at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. The team is part of a Level 3 tertiary centre, the only three in the South West neonatal network, caring for babies with complex respiratory, surgical, neurological, and cardiac conditions, as well as pre‑term and full‑term infants. We deliver family‑centred care and support continuous professional development through university‑accredited courses and in‑house training.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate prescribed treatment and care for patients and their families.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality with patients’ carers and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Act as a professional role model and set standards of practice.
  • Promote clinical effectiveness and opportunities for teaching junior colleagues and students.
  • Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients.
  • Administer medicines in accordance with Trust policy.
  • Develop clinical skills and participate in continuous professional development.
  • Provide accurate, timely, contemporary records of care and treatment in line with Trust record‑keeping policy and national minimum standards.
Important Note

We are unable to support nurses or midwives who require an OSCE to register with the NMC UK. Unfortunately, such applications will not be considered.
