12 month secondment opportunity on ICU Band 5 Staff Nurse/ ITU, West Cumberland Hospital 37.5 hours per week. An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop your knowledge and experience in ICU nursing. We are seeking an enthusiastic/motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our team on the Intensive Care Unit at the West Cumberland Hospital.
The Trust will provide a twelve‑month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.
Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments can access an agreed preceptorship period.
Our busy 6‑bedged general ICU unit provides adult intensive care/high‑dependency care and post‑anaesthetic care for elective and emergency patients across a range of medical and surgical specialities including Renal, Cardiology, Respiratory, Orthopaedic, Neurological and Obstetric patients. Within our ICU we are actively involved in stabilisation and transfer of adult patients requiring more specific intensive care such as neurological trauma, burns, spinal injuries, cardiac and hepatic disease. The ICU at WCH also specialises in the stabilisation and delivery of intensive care/high‑dependency care for paediatric patients prior to transfer to a specialised Paediatric ICU. The unit benefits from our own dedicated Clinical Educator who provides and facilitates on‑the‑job training alongside co‑ordinating further professional development for all the ICU nursing team. The unit will provide a 6‑week preceptorship period with input and support from our Intensive Care Clinical Educator.
