At the Walton Centre Foundation Trust we are looking to recruit highly motivated, committed Staff Nurses who would like to join our dedicated team. Applicants need current/recent experience in Critical Care and/or Neurosciences, newly qualified nurses with critical care/acute placement experience are welcome to apply.

Our current Critical Care service has a total of 20 Critical Care beds.

We are looking for applicants who are committed to embrace this opportunity to develop a career within Critical Care and those with existing Critical Care skills seeking a fresh challenge, the acquisition of new skills and the chance to further develop their scope of practice.

We will be happy to consider applications from newly qualified nurses.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs in order to plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs.

The post holder will provide specialist knowledge and clinical practice in assisting with the provision of advanced support systems.

You will establish and maintain effective communication with patients, staff and carers/relatives and be a positive role model, supervising others and participating in their education and development.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of experience working in a Critical Care Unit/HDU/Theatre Recovery/Acute Care Area (minimum requirement - pre-registration student placement in Critical Care)
  • Appropriate post-registration course in Critical Care and/or Neurosciences
  • Post registration experience in Critical Care / HDU / Theatre Recovery.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Knowledge of professional and NHS issues.
  • Awareness of the function of the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit
  • Depending on previous experience the candidate may be expected to supervise less experienced staff.
