Job description
Overview

Band 5 Staff Nurse (General Outpatients) - Part Time 33 hours per week. This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking and recording a comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced based nursing care to a diverse group of patients.
  • Deliver care without direct supervision.
  • Accountable for the care delivered and any omissions of care.
  • Teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the non-registered nursing workforce.
  • Accountable for care or any omissions of care that he/she delegates to others.
  • Act as role model, delivering care with empathy and compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develops competences and practices relevant clinical skills required to deliver care to the patient/client group.
  • Working as part of the multidisciplinary team focusing on the department team.
  • Responsible for the efficient running of various outpatient clinics.
  • Undertake nursing duties including: scrub nursing, leg dressings and IM injections.
  • Recognises, responds to and appropriately manages emergency situations.
  • Work autonomously in a nurse-led unit.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records on EPR.
  • To assist with ordering and maintaining the clinical area.
