Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Endoscopy Team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. After training, you will become skilled in delivering high-quality endoscopy care and independently managing patient care from assessment to evaluation.

The post is permanent, full-time (36 hours per week) with a Monday–Friday pattern (4 out of 5). Base location is Glasgow Royal Infirmary, with a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist patient care.
• Deliver safe and effective endoscopy care in line with standards and protocols.
• Provide high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Develop and manage programmes of care for patients.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to junior and support staff, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to the delivery of endoscopy procedures including GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP and EUS.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the Endoscopy Team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Following training, you will become a skilled member of the team, delivering high-quality specialist patient care independently. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, using specialist clinical skills to provide safe and effective endoscopy services.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Permanent, full‑time - 36 hours per week.

Shift pattern - Monday - Friday, 4 out of 5.

Base location - Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Essential

• Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration and a live NMC PIN.

Desirable

• Previous endoscopy experience.

Training

• Full training will be provided to develop specialist endoscopy skills and enable independent practice within the Endoscopy Unit.
