There has never been a better time to join the Emergency Department Team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking experienced B5 Staff Nurses to join the department on a permanent basis. Do you have previous ED experience? Then this could be the role for you.
The ED is a major trauma centre providing care to patients requiring a variety of services including major trauma, major assessment and treatment area and minor injuries. The department also has an enhanced care suite dedicated to those patients experiencing a mental health crisis. The ED prides itself on delivering high quality patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced environment.
The ED is an exciting place to work, great team work and multi‑disciplinary working ensures that all new starters are made to feel supported and welcome. As you progress through your induction a vast array of learning opportunities are available such as triage competency, suturing, dementia champion, ALS, cannulation and venesection and trauma ILS.

As a Staff Nurse you will be working alongside a dedicated and supportive team and form an integral part of our multi‑disciplinary team in providing excellent high‑quality care to our patients.
We are looking for experienced ED Nurses who are keen to join our friendly and dynamic team and work in a fast‑paced environment. Are you enthusiastic, committed and a motivated team player, with a strong interest in Emergency Medicine, who drives for high standards of care and proven leadership skills? If so, this is the place for you! You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills and be able to support junior colleagues in their development.

The Emergency Department is a 24‑hour service, a degree of flexibility will be required to meet service requirements.
We welcome part‑time applicants in the Emergency Department but to cover service needs you will need to be fully flexible with shifts.

£31,049 to £37,796 a year pro rata per annum
