A major NHS Trust in the UK is looking for enthusiastic Band 5 Nurses to join the discharge lounge team. This position involves providing high-quality patient care to facilitate efficient discharges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and working independently in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will possess excellent teamwork and communication skills, and be able to thrive under pressure. This role offers the chance to enhance your organizational skills while contributing to meaningful patient care.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Nurses to join the discharge lounge team within the Clinical site team, Trust Services. The Lounge will offer a 24/7 service comprising of 6 beds overnight for next day discharges, a weekend discharge service as well as the same day discharges currently in place.
The discharge lounge offers a safe comfortable environment for patients whilst waiting to be discharged. Patients are discharged through the Lounge to maintain and facilitate the flow of the hospital, freeing up much needed beds for emergency and elective patients on a day to day basis. The discharge lounge currently sees on average 400+ patients per month.
The ideal candidate must possess a strong team work ethic but have the confidence to work independently. Good communication skills are essential as you will be required to liaise with wards and work closely with the clinical site team, the hospital discharge team, transport and pharmacy. The registered nurses must have the ability to work under pressure as the lounge can quickly become a fast paced environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small but strong team, and will give you an opportunity to develop your organisational and management skills. This role will also require you to participate in developing and implementing change in the discharge lounge.
