Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dynamic, motivated and compassionate registered nurses to join our highly specialist Critical Care team. Our 36-bed unit provides state-of-the-art, compassionate care to the sickest patients, including ECMO and transplant pathways, with access to expert mentors and formal higher education programmes.

You'll work within a values-driven culture of compassion, excellence and collaboration, with opportunities for Critical Care rotations,

Qualifications

  • Professional adult nursing qualification and clinical knowledge to degree or diploma level.
  • Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council; hospital experience.
  • Ability to mentor and educate junior staff.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policy and PSIRF for vulnerable patients.
  • Good communication, problem solving, planning and prioritising workload.
  • Evidence of CPD and willingness to participate in further training.
  • Competent IT skills and commitment to compassion, excellence and collaboration.

  • Professional adult nursing qualification and clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree level OR diploma level qualification or above
  • Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council., Experience in a hospital/healthcare setting.
  • Ability to mentor and educate junior staff.
  • An understanding of safeguarding policy and procedures including Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), particularly those related to vulnerable patients.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be able to problem solve, use own initiative and plan, organise and prioritise own and others' workload.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and a willingness to participate in further training and education.
  • Competent IT skills., As well as being able to demonstrate examples of how they work in a way that is consistent with our values of compassion, excellence and collaboration the successful candidate will be able to clearly demonstrate a commitment to driving culture change through equality, diversity and inclusion.

We are looking for dynamic, motivated and compassionate registered nurses to join our highly specialist and internationally renowned mutli-disciplinary team. Our 36 bedded Critical Care is one of the largest and busiest in the region, with state of the art facilities, we are able to provide outstanding compassionate and holistic care to our patients. As a tertiary referral centre we look after some of the sickest patients who are referred to us for a variety of specialist services such as our ECMO (extra corporeal membrane oxygenation) service, heart and lung transplant, PCI pathway. Working in this environment is challenging and rewarding in equal amounts. Our well established programme for registered nurses will be tailored to you, combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for you to excel in your role. You will have access to expert clinical mentors and higher education programmes such as the Critical Care Course at degree or master's level, funded places at international conferences, Critical Care rotations and careers coaching for progression in more specialist roles., Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge. We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. It also offers emergency heart attack treatment, sleep centre care and is one of just five centres nationally for those in severe respiratory failure. Based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus the largest centre of medical research and health science in Europe the Trust is at the heart of treatments of the future.
