Role Overview

The post holder will work as part of a team of registered nurses, nursing associates, health‑care support workers and student nurses in delivering safe, effective care to patients within the Cancer Assessment Unit (CAU) in collaboration with the medical and wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), ensuring a high‑quality service to patients.

Leadership and Service Responsibilities
  • Participate in roles within the unit relevant to competency development, working in both the Cancer Assessment Unit and the Chemotherapy Hotline Service.
  • Lead the team of registered nurses, nursing associates, health‑care support workers and student nurses in delivering safe, effective care to patients within the CAU.
  • Hold overall responsibility for the Chemotherapy Hotline service, ensuring it is adequately resourced and audited.
  • Collaborate closely with the medical and wider MDT teams, maintaining excellent communication and care standards.
