A community healthcare organization in Wetherby seeks a Registered Nurse to provide care for vulnerable young individuals aged 10 to 18 in a secure facility. Working for Leeds Community Healthcare (LCH) in a secure environment is a truly unique experience. We operate as a community within a community, delivering a wide range of services including nursing, GP care, pharmacy, optometry, health promotion, physiotherapy, and more. As a Registered Nurse at Aldine House, you’ll provide care and support to vulnerable young people aged 10 to 18 who require a secure setting due to welfare concerns or involvement with the criminal justice system. This is a varied, challenging, and deeply rewarding role. Clinicians are a vital part of the multidisciplinary team, and your responsibilities will include: Conducting initial health assessments upon entry into custody, carrying out clinical and risk assessments, and managing a wide range of health needs, facilitating nursing clinics, administering immunizations, and vaccinations, triaging and treating minor illnesses and injuries, and responding to emergency situations, delivering age‑appropriate health promotion sessions tailored to this complex client group. This role offers the opportunity to develop both clinical and interpersonal skills while making a meaningful impact on the lives of some of society's most vulnerable children. You’ll help shape their health, well-being, and future choices through compassionate, holistic care.
You’ll collaborate closely with clinicians based at Wetherby YOI and Adel Beck SCH, working alongside prison departments, education teams, safer custody, and probation services. Please note, there may be cross‑site working requirements at Adel Beck SCH (LS16 8EB) and HMYOI Wetherby (LS22 5ED).
