A healthcare trust in the UK is looking for a Band 5 registered staff nurse to join the Palliative Care Unit at North Tyneside General Hospital. The role involves assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care, as well as leading nursing services in the absence of senior staff. Candidates must possess a registered nurse qualification, demonstrate compassionate leadership, and be able to work in a high-pressure environment. This full-time position includes day and night shifts, focusing on patients with palliative conditions.
The role is to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the Ward Manager. You will also be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of the nursing services in the absence of senior staff and to maintain high clinical standards. The successful post holders must be able to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the Trust. All newly qualified staff, staff returning to practice after an extended break or staff working for the NHS for the first time, will be expected to undertake the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Preceptorship Programme. This is a level 6 Accredited Work Based Learning Programme delivered in association with Northumbria University and full participation is mandatory.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Palliative Care Unit at North Tyneside General Hospital as a Band 5 registered staff nurse. The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil a rotational contract which includes day & night shift duties. The post is full time, 37.5 hours per week. The palliative care unit has 19 beds. We care for patients with a range of palliative conditions, focusing on symptom control, psychological support and patients at the end of their life.
