A leading NHS trust in the UK is seeking self-motivated nurses dedicated to providing patient-centered care. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, advocating for patients and demonstrating empathy. Opportunities for professional development are supported, and flexible working arrangements may be accommodated.
We've been providing patient‑centred healthcare to communities in the North East of England and beyond for over 250 years and are proud to be one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, offering a vast and diverse range of specialist services. We approach our daily work with the ethos that patients remain at the heart of everything we do, in line with the trust's Vision and Values and is reflected in our newly launched Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals Strategy. We seek self‑motivated, confident nurses with a natural aptitude for empathy and attentiveness, who can demonstrate a sensitive yet self‑assured approach with patients who are often very scared and uncertain for their future. Acting as an advocate for your patients, you will need authentic communication and listening skills, and the ability to build trust, considering all factors in their response to prognosis and treatment plans. This can require considerable resilience and insight and you will liaise with colleagues from many external partnership services, requiring good coordination and organisation skills.
Our teams also include many nurse specialists and as such there is great scope for progression to more specialist and other senior nursing and managerial roles. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is extremely important to us, to ensure our staff can fully liberate their potential. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your skills and competencies with dedicated support from our Clinical Educators.
As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
Our staff oversee over 6,500 patient contacts every day, delivering high standards of healthcare from the following sites:
These include a range of flagship services which deliver cutting‑edge care (supported by state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic services in both radiology and pathology) and are a catalyst for innovation to support pioneering clinical practice in the NHS.
We also have offices at Regent Point in Gosforth and community sites.
