Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust invites applications for a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Medicine for the Elderly ward. As a Band 5 staff nurse, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to older patients with complex needs, supporting assessment, care planning and discharge planning.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent communication and clinical skills, with commitment to CPD.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse qualification and registration with NMC as a requisite
• Experience in elderly care or placement in elderly care during training preferred

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision.
• Ensure assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based care.
• Organise own workload to ensure effective use of time.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff and students.
• Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide information as requested.
• Assist in teaching and development of nursing assistants and students to meet learning outcomes.
• Act as a role model and mentor to nursing staff and students.

Job overview

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medicine for the Elderly ward. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, supporting assessment, care planning, medication administration and discharge planning.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and clinical skills, with a commitment to continuous professional development. Main duties of the job

• Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision.
• Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based.
• Organise one’s own workload ensuring most effective use of time.
