Job summary

A healthcare trust in London is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide care for neonates in a supportive environment. Staff Nurse

Are you newly qualified and looking for a small friendly unit to begin your neonatal career in or an experienced nurse wishing to make a difference? If so this is the role for you.

We are a level 1 SCBU with 6 cots, caring for premature babies from 34 weeks gestation and term babies requiring enhanced levels of care. We also have a level 2 LNU on the St Helier's site for babies from 27 weeks onward. We encourage both adult and newly qualified nurses to apply as role specific training will be provided in the form of a comprehensive orientation programme and access to the neonatal qualified in speciality course.

Main duties of the job
  • Direct care for babies from 34 weeks onwards requiring CPAP, phototherapy and feeding support. Stabilisation and immediate resuscitation of babies requiring level 2/3 care prior to transferring out.
  • Work with families to empower them to become the primary carers and partners in care for their babies.
  • Competent in administering drugs and utilising equipment.
