Homeprotect is seeking a Staff Engineer to shape the technical direction of the Underwriting & Pricing domain as the platform modernises. You will work across teams to enable rapid, safe pricing and underwriting changes with a high degree of autonomy.

You will influence engineering standards beyond the immediate team, partner with product and actuarial colleagues, and mentor senior engineers while strengthening CI/CD, testing, and cloud-native practices across our domain.

Competenze

• Proven experience as a Staff Engineer or equivalent across multiple teams or a major capability.
• Ability to define architecture and engineering standards independently and document them clearly.
• Experience influencing engineering decisions without formal authority.
• Comfort with rules-heavy, calculation-intensive systems where correctness matters.
• Hands-on experience in a modern backend language such as C# or Java.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, testing, observability and cloud-native development.
• Experience operating production systems in Azure or GCP with reliability and security.
