Job summary

Beamery in London is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to set the technical direction of our data platform. This is the most senior individual contributor role in data engineering, owning long-term architecture and guiding multi-quarter initiatives.

You’ll partner with EPD leadership, design scalable analytic and AI data layers, ensure reliability and data quality, and mentor engineers across teams while balancing new technology against delivery risk.

Qualifications

• Staff-level data engineer with experience building data platforms for internal/external consumers.
• Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, real-time and batch processing.
• Ability to trade off architectural decisions in distributed, multi-tenant systems.
• Track record of operating in production: tracing failures and impact.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy for the data platform, with multi-quarter architectural vision.
• Architect analytics, semantic, and AI data layers for trustworthy products.
• Set scalable patterns and data contracts adopted by other teams.
• Own reliability, observability, data quality, SLAs, and incident response.
