Job summary

Graphcore in the United Kingdom is seeking a Staff Data Engineer – Agentic Applications to design, build and operate Python‑based web applications and agentic workflows that connect AI agents to tools and data sources. You will own backend services, API interfaces and reusable templates while ensuring security, reliability and governance.

You will collaborate with analysts, engineers and business stakeholders to convert requirements into production solutions, enhance the data platform and mentor

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing, building and operating production-grade data pipelines and platforms using Python.
• Experience building and supporting Python web applications, backend services and APIs that integrate data and business systems.
• Experience developing applications or workflows that use large language models or AI agents, including connecting them to tools, APIs and governed data sources.
• Experience with Python web application frameworks such as Streamlit, Flask or FastAPI.

Responsibilities

• Build business-facing applications using Python web technologies to access trusted data and improve workflows.
• Translate business needs into working solutions in collaboration with analysts and engineers.
• Own backend services and provide documented APIs and reusable templates for business teams.
• Maintain security, testing and maintainability of code and deployments.
• Establish ownership, review and deployment controls for business-maintained front ends.
• Design API-backed services with authentication and governance.
• Maintain orchestration, CI/CD, testing and monitoring for data pipelines and apps.
• Improve resilience with error handling, retries and backfill capabilities.
• Contribute to data quality, observability and security standards.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews and mentoring.
