Job summary

Graphcore seeks a Staff Cloud Engineer to develop and deploy private and public cloud services for AI compute. Join the Cloud Platform team near datacentre operations and product development to enable scalable access to large-scale AI systems.

You will operate OpenStack-based services, automate deployments with IaC, and improve observability. The role emphasizes ownership of hard infrastructure problems and rapid production decisions.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience with proven ability to scope and deliver technical infrastructure work.
• Experience operating on-premises or private-cloud environments with ownership of end-user availability.
• Strong Linux system administration and scripting skills (Bash and Python).
• Hands-on experience deploying services with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, Packer).
• Practical understanding of cloud foundations (virtualization, virtual networks, block storage, monitoring).
• Experience using Git, CI pipelines and container tools, with clear user support communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate and extend OpenStack-based services and automate deployment with infrastructure-as-code.
• Improve observability across the fleet and benchmark, validate, and optimise systems.
• Own end-to-end infrastructure delivery, from hardware to software services, in production.
• Collaborate with software platform, datacentre operations and product teams to reduce toil and improve reliability.
