Job summary

QRT in London seeks an exceptional Staff Security Engineer for our AI Security function. You will design and implement security controls across inference gateways, platforms and developer tooling, delivered as code, embedding secure defaults into engineering workflows.

You will define standards for AI use, build telemetry, manage provenance and integrity of models, and drive threat modelling with remediation. This role requires deep hands-on security across cloud and CI/CD environments.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, platform engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
• Strong academic record in computer science or software engineering.
• Ability to build and ship controls in production systems, not only review them.
• Depth in at least one area: application security, platform and cloud security, or security architecture.
• Hands-on experience securing cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Judgment to make control decisions in areas with no established practice.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls in inference gateways, platforms and developer tooling, delivered as code and configuration.
• Embed controls in systems that engineering teams use, so secure options are the default.
• Define standards and patterns for teams building with AI.
• Define agent roles, reach, and enforcement.
• Build telemetry to record activity and decisions.
• Provenance and integrity requirements for models and components.
• Threat model live systems across platform and gateway security, agent identity, and AI supply chain.
• Own remediation from threat modelling and prioritization based on risk.
