Job summary

A leading women's health organization in Liverpool is seeking a full-time ST1/2 level trust doctor in Obstetrics and Gynecology. This 12-month fixed-term position includes responsibilities such as clerking patients, attending outpatient and operating theatres, and participating in training programs. Overview

Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest specialist obstetric and gynaecological units in Europe, with a strong record of research in Gynaecology, Neonatology and Reproductive Medicine as well as Obstetric Anaesthesia.

The post is a full‑time 12‑month fixed‑term ST1/2 level trust doctor position in Obstetrics and Gynecology, suitable for junior doctors considering a career in O&G.

Duration of the Post

Full‑time, 12 months fixed term, with potential to extend.

Responsibilities
  • Clerking elective and emergency admissions
  • Antenatal, postoperative care on wards, intrapartum care in the delivery suite
  • Attend outpatient clinics and operating theatres for both Gynaecology and Obstetrics
  • Partake in clinical research and audit, regular teaching sessions with GP, Foundation level 2 or ST1/2 doctors
  • Attend CTG training, incident reviews and MDT meetings across perinatal medicine, obstetric medicine, oncology, Uro‑gynaecology and endoscopic surgery
  • Contribute to clinical governance activities
  • Provide on‑call cover for acute obstetric and gynaecological emergencies as per rota
Educational Opportunities
  • Structured programme of training to achieve necessary competencies
  • Participation in obstetric and gynaecology theatre sessions, clinics, delivery suite and gynaecology emergency room sessions
  • In‑house teaching and multidisciplinary sessions
  • Use of a template timetable for week‑by‑week clinical planning
