This role involves coordinating staffing across multiple areas, ensuring quality standards, and serving as the main contact for technical inquiries. The ideal candidate should have experience in a supervisory role and be proactive in improving processes within the department. Join a team dedicated to putting patients first and making a difference in the healthcare community.
Are you a focused, pro‑active, forward‑thinking individual? If you answered “yes” then this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.
We are offering you the opportunity to become part of our team at the Sterile Services & Decontamination Unit, Lostock, Bolton as an SSDU Team Coordinator.
37.5 hours per week – working Saturday 8am‑8pm, Sunday 8am‑8pm and two weekday shifts (days and times depend on operational requirements of the department).
*Applicants who have already received feedback that they are unsuitable for the position need not apply – unless they have taken steps to strengthen their application or gained further experience since that decision.
Please note that this vacancy may close early if a sufficient number of applications are received. We encourage interested candidates to apply promptly to avoid disappointment.
To oversee the day‑to‑day co‑ordination of each aspect of the SSDU, this person will be responsible for the allocation and co‑ordination of staffing to each of the four discrete areas within the unit, ensuring the smooth running of the service during the shift, which involves around 30–40 people.
This role will act as the first point of reference for team leaders on technical enquiries, advice on applying quality standards and adherence to safe working practice. It will also be the primary point of contact for service users – the first line response for complaints, incidents and technical enquiries – and will liaise with logistics and theatre staff across all theatres of SRFT and WWL.
The post holder will be expected to continually seek ways to improve processes and procedures within the unit that sustain effective and efficient ways of working, driving continuous improvement of service performance.
