Teacher Vacancy for our Specialist Resourced Provision - Maternity Cover Contract

St James Academy

Lighthouse MAT

Full Time

M1-UPS3 plus SEN Allowance

Start date: Monday 23 February 2026

We are seeking to recruit a teacher to cover a maternity leave within our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). Our provision is for 16 children (EYFS/KS1 and KS2) with an autism diagnosis and/or communication and interaction needs. The teaching vacancy is in the room for the 8 older children (KS1-2) although there will be an initial 5-week period of cover in the EYFS/KS1 classroom (8 pupils). You will be working alongside our skilled team of support staff. We also benefit from the strong network we have created with staff from other SRPs across Walsall, working collaboratively to further develop and enhance our good practice.

Our school is part of the Lighthouse MAT, a group of 9 strong schools across Walsall, all graded ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ (OFSTED). We have developed an excellent network of collaborative practice with a strong focus on staff development. We are a fully inclusive academy (and MAT) and enjoy the challenge of meeting the needs of every child in a unique way.

If you are an energetic, enthusiastic and outstanding teacher, we want you at St James Academy where children are encouraged to ‘share, care, achieve and believe’! You will inspire our children, ensuring they make good progress and enjoy learning. Specialisms in SEN and SEMH would be an advantage.
